Don’t Forget To Eat!!

The term hated among most… If not all Christians… “The Buffet Christian”. These Christians receive sympathy and are being defended by many who lack understanding what it means to be this infamous character. Or on the other hand, they are the person that is being spoke about. They have those blinders set upon their eyes and they can’t see the forest for the trees.

I think we all get it though, what this statement really means. The Buffet represents the entirety of the word of God. Yet, we only pick and choose what satisfies us. What we think will nourish our bodies or our souls. We pass up anything that we really need, because we don’t think it does anything to feed us. This leads to a lack of nutrition, and our bodies learn to live with out it.

If we end up dying without it. We end up never knowing what it means to fully be immersed into the word of God. Allowing ourselves to be fully engulfed by its power. Never allowing ourselves to draw closer to Him the Father…To truly encompass His will. We only know, what we think is the best for us, never seeing the the true inner works of what the word does to us in our life.

And this is the scary part… Once we are dead it’s all over, but while we live, if we learn to live without, we are just as good as those who have passed. We become the the walking dead, and slowly rot until there is only bone and skin. A shell of a man, that once thought they were the temple of God…

It’s easy to start compromising, especially when we begin to think a warm smile can replace God’s word… And soon enough, soft lips and that sweet smell of romance fills our minds as we sacrifice the truth for lies, because we believe a hug from a sinner is more important then the word of God and the sacrifice it brings.

Hence, we start to pick and choose other scriptures… Scriptures that only fit to our life at that moment… And as we see all the different people coming in and out of our lives, instead of holding strong to speaking the truth, and living by every word of the word of God. We start to sacrifice it, for a false idea “idol” of love. We start to construed what true love really is, and we design a word around what we think is right. We preach/teach only to satisfy those around us, not to satisfy the Father.

For if we are alive, and the word lives within us, then the scriptures would be the only thing we preach/teach. For nothing can replace it… Nothing can give us that nourishment we so desire to have, and what others yearn so desperately to encounter.

But, that is the greatest sin. Pastors/Teachers become built up by others itching ears and in return those “men” submit to them, for the praise that they receive. I get it… We all get lost in what we think is nourishing to us. We forget who counted the cost. We forget that Christ not only died for us, but for every word of the word of God. For He was the one nailed to the cross. (Galatians 3:13-14) He sacrificed everything for the will of the Father, and we can’t even sacrifice our popularity (within this world) for Him.

Build on the Rock Matthew 7:24-27

24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”

It’s about every word!! Not every word that we like. Once we decide that a word from God was only meant for a particular time or place, then that word becomes dead/rotten… Obsolete.. Unable to nourish us and move us forward, to develop a closer relationship with the Father. And if that relationship can’t grow, then, in the end, it will turn to ash. For when we are judged by Fire.. Will our works stand strong, or will they melt/burn away.. Never settle for being a milk drinker… Eat the meat, that God wants all His children to eat. The total and absolute word of God. For His word brings life, faith, love, and the will of the Father in all of our life’s.
