Enter the world in which we either (knowingly or unknowingly) desire to handicap the word of God. In which every word and work we commit is blasphemed against the Father. The age of The Hyper Calvinist and Hyper Grace has now (more than ever) entered the mainstream and is moving faster than ever within our youth.
These movements are only centered on the internal selfishness of one’s own heart. To deny the life of a servant and to only serve themselves. The word “Repent” is far from their dictionary and they design a Jesus through the most outrageous parameters of their hearts. These movements only cause destruction and confusion to those who follow it, but they do it in such a way that is pleasing to the ear, and they champion experiences over staying on the path of truth of following the word of God.
Hyper Grace
To be honest… the Hyper Grace (which lands on the Armenian side) has been preached within Joel Osteen’s church, by a man that many may know, Joseph Prince. This man openly acknowledges that because Christ died upon the cross, we no longer have to repent for our sins. Our past, present, and future sins are forgiven and that we (as Christians) sacrifice/mock the grace in our life if we don’t believe that what He did on the cross was sufficient. Basically, that faith and repentance no longer are equal parts representing a believer’s walk with Christ. Why repent… The work is done.
Think how sweet that deceptive whisper sounds. That we no longer need to repent because our sins are washed. Acts 3:19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, 2 Peter 1:9, the believer who goes backward spiritually rather than forward “is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.. The main point in 2 Peter is that the believer “has been cleansed from his past sins”. Nowhere in the bible does it state that our future sins are wiped out, but if we do commit any unrighteous acts, that God is merciful and will forgive us of our transgressions.
Suffice to say, all of these men’s false teachings leave no room for struggle and having victory over our flesh. If repentance is not needed, then any conviction (from the holy spirit) is therefore suffocated and slowly removed from ones life. Our actions or thoughts sooner then later become a complete fabrication of our own righteousness. This will drive us further from the Father, not closer. Once we start to believe “We Arrived”, and our flesh has all control in our lives, we will sell our birthright for a bowl of soup (the false words of these men), and lose any conviction/ability to know what it means to repent. (Heb 12:17)
This is greatly damning, for any of us who have an understanding of God’s word. Where is the faith if no repentance?? Where is the relationship with Jesus Christ if building that relationship with Him, through our sacrifices and our faults, no longer matter?? To repent is to openly acknowledge our faults and to desire a way greater than our own and to better serve the Father.
Hyper Calvinism
I’m not going to sit here and go through the entirety of TULIP. That is the Calvinist theology on eternal salvation. What lives on the extreme side of this belief, is Hyper Calvinism. On the extreme side, even for most Calvinist, they understand, that these individuals go so far to say that witnessing and ministering the word of God is not needed. For all those who would believe are already ordained by God, and they have their path set out for them. That repentance itself is a dirty word, because it represents a “work”. And God would never ask you to serve Him through works. As we should know, repentance is not a work, but a continuation of the all the good work God is doing within us.
Be careful of deceptive beliefs. Where repentance is a word that is cursed and becomes a trigger that will offend those who are already “saved”. -FilthyTruth
Unfortunately, some of this gets even deeper. Some of these groups believe, because God chose them, and since He designed them, then they don’t need to ask even for forgiveness. That because forgiveness was already given, and they’ve been handpicked, then they can live however they see fit. They drink, smoke, have sex and pretty much go against anything the word of God illustrates on how we should live a Christian life.
In my own experience, I’ve heard these extremist go so far and to say that God had their wife cheat on them. That God specifically designed certain people just to give them trials and tribulations, as if these people are already (chosen) damned to go to hell for their benefit and to represent the Glory of God through that damnation.
Both
One I really love… Pastors, on both sides, have gone so far as to say God picked them/him for this specific purpose (to run the church), so if he was hand picked then he is doing exactly what the Father planned. Therefore to go against him is to go against God.
All of these are quite horrific. We are too work together for the greater good and we are all to be a representation of Christ here on earth… Edifying and rebuking the unsaved or believer who have lost their way.
End
Thankfully, the Calvinist Extreme isn’t as main stream as the Armenian Extreme. But both of these beliefs are like branches reaching out as far as they can. Giving corrupt fruit to anyone who is willing to take a bite. Be careful of deceptive beliefs. Where repentance is a word that is cursed and becomes a trigger that will offend those who are already “saved”.
