Zombie Christian
The Zombie Christians are all around us. Too many people know the word of God, but do they live out the word of God!! If the word is a living/breathing document, then why isn’t it influencing them/us the way that it should??
Paul said in Romans 7:7…Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”…
My take away with this part of Romans 7:7, is if we never read the word of God, then we could never know what sin is. Sins ugly nature, and the strength our flesh has in our lives. By becoming wise to the word of God we now know we have to sacrifice and fight against our desires, the flesh that wants to become a fist to God in defiance.
But, victory comes when we allow the word to have a complete entrance into our lives, to fully become part of our daily sacrifice. Instead, so many become the walking dead. Knowing what sin is and lacking the will to fight against it. Lacking the ability for the word to give them life. Instead, they knowingly or unknowingly choose death.
When we have no spiritual battle or warfare with our flesh, we walk around professing Godliness, yet not becoming the representatives that Christ wants us to become. We refuse to see the death that sin brings, never truly engaging His word. Hence, we become like Zombies to the sin in our life refusing the spirit of God to take hold of us.
This death march is uttered in a very similar fashion, but with a different voice to the beat of James 1:21-25.
Suffice to say… No scary to say, this is the walk for most who proclaim the word of God. We take very little, if any, steps to allow the word entrance in our lives, so it can never fully convict us, convert us, and move us the way the Father intends. We walk around never truly remembering our image that Christ designed us to be.
Therefore you need to ask yourself, are you saved?? Or maybe you’re a 5, 10 year “serving” Christian still drinking milk. That very same Christian that Paul rebukes in Hebrews for having to be retaught the basics principles of Christianity.
End
You don’t want to live in the realm of the living dead, while the church feeds you the same lukewarm meal. And the only time you become excited is when the music is playing. This environment will never allow growth into your life. These words only keep you depending on the church. They give you just enough nourishment so you can once again drag your feet in waiting for the next meal. Zombies are great for television, but not what you should desire to become.
